Macclesfield was once at the centre of the UK’s silk throwing and weaving industry. Today there are still many people who work in fashion and textiles in the town or who have craft, making and mending hobbies and yet there are limited networks supporting this community of interest.

• Much of the uniqueness of Macclesfield’s fashion culture resides in the people of the town and in their goodwill, trusted relationships and expertise;
• Bringing people together allows skills, knowledge, assets and resources to be shared, benefitting everyone.
